STEP 1: ASSESSMENT
LET'S LOOK AT HOW YOU STAND
Your standing posture says a lot about you! I'll take 4 quick screenshots and upload them to a posture grid to look for asymmetries and deviations that could be contributing to your aches and pains. You'll get a better understanding of WHERE your pain is coming from...and WHAT your pain (and your posture) is telling you.
STEP 2: MOVEMENT ANALYSIS
LET'S LOOK AT HOW YOU MOVE
Your body is perfectly designed to walk, reach, rotate, climb, crouch, and carry. Can you do each of these with ease and confidence? I call this "functional posture." I'll take you through a thorough movement analysis as I watch and listen to how your body responds and feels with different exercises. We'll work together to create a personalized exercise plan to begin the process of unraveling your current posture and movement patterns to make room for new ones...and you'll establish a routine to do the exercises every day ;)
STEP 3: THE EXERCISES
LET'S LOOK AT WHAT YOU'RE DOING
Now, the transformation begins! Your personalized exercise plan will be delivered to you via email and Egoscue app. You'll get detailed written instructions and photos, plus video illustrations of each exercise. You'll have access to me via email or Zoom office hours for questions, support, and feedback on the exercises...to be sure that what you're doing is getting us closer to your goals.
STEP 4: FOLLOW-UPS
LET'S LOOK AT WHERE YOU'RE GOING
As your posture changes, your menu needs to change so that we continue to make progress. We'll meet every 1-2 weeks to update your exercises based on your photos and your feedback. It's a process that gradually builds your endurance, balance, resilience, and confidence...so you can go back to enjoying your active lifestyle without limitation...and stay in the game! *POSTURE THERAPY is available in-person at Chautauqua Institution (June 26-July 27, 2023) or via Zoom. I'm an Athletic Trainer and Egoscue Certified Posture Therapist who specializes in injury rehab and prevention.
Injuries very rarely just "happen." Most injuries are preceded by warning signs that we ignore, mask, or suffer through because we think that pain is the price we pay for an active (or aging) lifestyle.
The good news is, most injuries are preventable (and fixable!)..no matter your age. I'll show you how.
Let's take a look at the warning signs.
Let's do something about them.
Let's stay in the game!
Let's get started.
