I really believe that your best, most adventurous, strongest years can be ahead of you. And it can be simpler (and more fun) than you think. I'll show you how to TAKE CHARGE of the AGE STRONG process at this rejuvenating Health & Wellness Retreat at beautiful Chautauqua Institution, NY.

NOTE: We are pleased to provide a courtesy room block at Maple Inn, just steps away from Bestor Plaza, the center of CHQ. Each room is equipped with a kitchenette, WiFi, TV, and a private bath. Call today (be sure to mention that you're part of the retreat) to reserve your room, which is not included in the retreat price. Their number is 716-357-4583. You can view the rooms here, but do NOT attempt to book online, as the rooms are blocked for us. Save money by sharing a room with a friend! Many rooms are equipped for 2-4 guests.   • TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR POSTURE

    We'll begin and end each day of this retreat with a restorative "Posture Camp" workout...a 15-20 minute flow of my favorite Egoscue exercises to unwind, align, and engage from head to toe. It's a wonderful way to recruit the deep layer of muscles that help us move better, feel better, and look better..at any age!

  • TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR HORMONES

    Have you heard of "inflamm-aging?" It refers to the rapid acceleration of the aging process due to prolonged inflammation and stress at the cellular level. I'll show you how to manage & manipulate the 2 hormones (cortisol and growth hormone) that can reverse this - naturally - with stress-busting activities and growth hormone-boosting workouts.  

  • TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR NUTRITION 

    Research shows that the world's healthiest people are the ones with the healthiest guts. Learn how to nourish your gut microbiome (and your longevity) with daily cooking classes and selected recipes from the "Blue Zones" cookbook! Your meals and snacks are included in this retreat and are guaranteed to be tasty :)

  • TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR EXERCISE

    Let's face it. We all like to do the exercises and activities that we're familiar with. But are they helping? Or are they hurting? My "AGE STRONG" training plan builds muscle, strength, and cardiovascular health in just 20 minutes/day. We will have fun doing this workout together using body weight, resistance bands, and everyday objects.

The Health and Wellness retreat was excellent.  Laura is an enthusiastic guide and facilitator who exemplifies what she teaches. You will leave energized.

Anyone 55+ would benefit from this retreat. The information and conversations shared were uplifting, motivating, and affirming.

The group shared positive and supportive energy in this retreat, which was filled with laughs, learning, and comradery. We came as 25 strangers and left as friends.

This is going to be so fun!

I've designed this retreat using decades of professional experience as a health/wellness coach and my personal commitment to the "Age Strong" lifestyle. My coaching approach was inspired at age 8 by Johanna Spyri’s heroine, Heidi (really!), and focuses on the basics of good food, good movement, and helping my clients overcome their individual barriers to success. I especially enjoy working with people like myself with “over 50” bodies and “under 40” attitudes, who have a lifelong quest for health and adventure. I have a psychology degree from State University of New York at Stony Brook and a master’s degree in exercise physiology from Queens College, as well as certifications from the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (Athletic Trainer, Certified), National Strength and Conditioning Association (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist), National Academy of Sports Medicine (Fitness Nutrition Specialist) and Egoscue Institute (Posture Alignment Specialist).

 

The best part of my job is bringing years of education and research to life - to help you TAKE CHARGE of your health - in a friendly, supportive environment. I'd love to have you join me at the retreat!
